ADHD Reader — Privacy Policy

ADHD Reader is a Chrome extension that applies Bionic Reading formatting to web pages to help users with ADHD read more easily. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not collect.

Data We Collect

None. ADHD Reader does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

How the Extension Works

The extension stores one setting in your browser — whether Bionic Reading is on or off — using Chrome's storage.sync API. This preference is synced across your Chrome profiles by Google's infrastructure. The extension developer has no access to this data.

All text processing happens locally in your browser. The extension never reads or transmits page content.

What the Extension Does NOT Do

• Collect browsing history or page content
• Make network requests to any server
• Use analytics, tracking, or crash reporting
• Require account creation or login
• Send any data to external servers
• Execute remotely hosted code

Permissions Explained

• storage — saves your on/off toggle preference locally
• activeTab / scripting — applies bold formatting to the page you're reading
• Host permission (<all_urls>) — lets the extension run on any website you visit, since ADHD affects reading everywhere, not just specific sites
